With our abundant sunshine and reasonable cost of living, Tucson has traditionally been a favorite destination of the retiree, or "snowbird." Many come just for the fall and winter, and return home in the spring and summer. But others chose to relocate here permanently. We have two designated "adult" communities and lots of condominium and mobile home parks as well. Green Valley is an adult but not age restricted town approximately 25 miles south of Tucson.
Saddlebrooke
Saddlebrooke was developed by Robson Communities, a builder of master planned subdivisions throughout the West. It is a large community of over 4000 homes with another 2000 under construction. The subdivision is tucked away northwest of the Santa Catalina Mountains approximately 14 miles north of Ina Road. It has incredible mountain views plus a huge clubhouse (and one more being built), golf, swimming, lovely dining, arts and crafts, activities and more.

Sun City Tucson was developed by Del Webb, one of the largest builders of retirement communities in the West. Begun in 1987, it was completed in 1997. Nestled in the northwest corridor of Tucson adjacent to Rancho
Vistoso, it is an adult community oriented towards the active adult. There are recreational facilities which host social functions, billiards, a library, a gym, golf, tennis, basketball, swimming and more.

Green Valley is an unincorporated town about 25 miles south of Tucson (about 15 minutes driving time). Begun in 1964, it has about 25,000 residents. There is both new construction and resale real estate. Green Valley residents enjoy six golf courses: four public courses, two private courses, and a par-3; lots of shopping and peaceful views of the Santa Rita Mountains.
