"It really is a dry heat!" Tucson enjoys more sunny days than any other city in the country! Our weather really is as special as people talk about. Average temperatures are listed below.
Our summers are warm, no doubt about it. How do we keep cool? Evaporative cooling. To learn more about this, click here:

The early mornings and evenings are incredibly comfortable and make our daytime temperatures worth it. The spring and fall are perfect for outdoor living: eating on your patio, reading the newspaper or just kicking back. Our winters are nothing like you've ever seen before! Temperatures do get cold at night and we usually have about ten days worth of really cold days. Then we average off into the low 70's for daytime temperatures with low fifties at night. Flowers bloom and birds sing.
July usually brings our monsoons, which are localized very heavy rainstorms. Usually beginning in mid-afternoon, there is an intense downpour accompanied by thunder and lightening. The rain lasts for an hour or two, then the sky clears and brings incredible sunsets. Don't forget: driving into a flooded arroyo or wash is never advisable. The current can be very swift and will strand your car and threaten your safety.
It's always important to remember three things: sunscreen, water and sunscreen. Our sunlight is very intense and most people don't realize how easily they can burn throughout the year. Keeping yourself hydrated is one of the most important factors in living here. You won't realize how much water you need, especially participating in some of our many recreational activities.
